The coolest-lame shoe I have ever owned. Designed by Jerry Lorenzo with Fear of God and released through Nike in 2019.
When this shoe dropped I was intrigued, but the biggest deterrent was the re-sell price tag. I believe for a few months they were priced at around $500! So I waited and eventually paid about $175. Worth.
Technically this was my first every luxury shoe ever purchased. Which is ironic because they are also my least comfortable pair of shoes I have ever owned. They have a very obvious air unit in the heel, which I think makes the entire shoe, but it adds nothing to the overall comfort. It still feels very hard, flat and stiff. The midsole is normal width, but it does fit long. So for anyone looking to grab a pair, I would recommend going down half a size.
The mid cut is comfortable, and unless the draw string is cinched too tight, you barely notice you're not in a low-cut. So, it doesn't add much support. For a man with weak ankles, I wont be climbing hills in them anytime soon.
The pink colour that I chose are perfect for the upcoming summer and subsequent good weather. It vibes very well with other pastel colour ways, and in general just lighter colours. Plus its lowkey enough that it doesn't steal the attention of whatever is being worn. Unfortunately it is only sized in mens, BUT since the design is very subtle and minimalistic, I'm sure all genders could rock these effectively.
The shoes are desired because of the name associated with the collaboration. Non-sneakerheads find them strange or even childish. Even sneakerheads have either forgot about them or are focused on the high-top silhouette of the same capsule. Fingers crossed I will be able to get all the different styles by Lorenzo. But for now, I'll wear my pink shoes to the patios when they open.
The Nike Fear of God Moc comes in 2 other colours; Black and Pure Platinum (white-ish). If you can find these shoes at retail they would be priced at $200. But all colours can be purchased thorough re-sell markets for roughly $150, depending on your size.
Overall: 7.9/10
